Soft Close and Push to Open Drawer Runners

Of course we get excited about all our product launches, but this is a first! We have not previously supplied a runner with the two functions of soft close and push to open combined. 


These runners conveniently accommodate the trend for drawers without handles which alludes to modern minimalist style along with the luxury and quality of the fitting itself: providing simplicity and style with functionality.


Where can we use them?

These side fix runners are normally used in a bedroom or living room. There is no reason they can’t be utilised in kitchen drawers as well. The big appeal is preventing banging when closing, and the soft glide mechanism is a pure delight.  Noise is reduced as drawers close silently and gently every time and can never be slammed shut. All that is needed is a gentle touch which engages the mechanism that fully closes or opens the drawer.

Replacement, upgrade and new design

These side mounted drawer runners are the perfect replacement to damaged runners or simply for upgrading drawers in the bedroom and living room. They are ideal for new bespoke furniture too, along with all furniture manufacturing. One of the hallmarks of high-quality furniture are these push to open and soft close full extension drawer runners with steel ball bearings which provide for a smoother travel. Expect these fittings to last longer because the quality soft close and touch to open mechanism is under less stress.

The specification and fitting
Soft Close Push Open Slide

  • Push to open and soft close full extension drawer runners are manufactured in steel and finished in zinc and built to a high standard by GTV.
  • They will require a building in width of approximately 12.7mm (+/- 0.3mm) either side and a maximum weight capacity of 35Kg.
  • All runners feature a release mechanism for easy fitting and are full extension, enabling easier access to the rear of the drawer when opened.
  • We only supply the 450mm and 500mm lengths from stock currently, but they are available from 300mm to 600mm in 50mm increments.
  • Current lead time is approximately 3-4 weeks.
