Why Carry Out Regular Cleaning of Dial Locks?

The first step in maintaining dial locks is to keep them clean. Dust, dirt, and debris can accumulate over time, potentially hindering the lock's operation. Use a soft, lint-free cloth to wipe down the lock's exterior regularly.

Check for Loose Components

Periodically inspect dial locks for any loose screws, bolts, or other components. Tighten them as necessary to prevent any potential lock functionality issues. The Cam at the back can be easily replaced with one screw.  

Test the Lock's Operation

Regularly test the lock to ensure it operates smoothly. Turn the dial or input the code and verify that the lock engages and disengages without any hesitation or resistance. If damaged the lock can also be easily removed and replaced once in the open position. The majority of the range can be swapped out between the Fixcode or Freecode Dial Locks as they all require the same cut out in the material.

Resetting Codes 

If using the Fixcode Dial Locks consider changing the code periodically. This adds an extra layer of security and helps prevent unauthorised access. Replacement Code Find Pins and Master Keys can be ordered from us if lost. On the newer locks, a number on the front of the lock cylinder is used to identify the correct Master Key.

Preventative Measures

Implement measures to protect your lock from physical damage or extreme conditions.  For example, consider installing a cover or shield to shield it from additional dust or moisture.
